Bach in the City Staff
Bach in the City is made possible by those in front and behind the scenes!
Ana Miranda-Gonzalez, Operations Manager (She/They)
Hailed by Windy City Times as having “a melodic soprano whose voice echoes through a packed theater”, Chicago based Mexican-American Soprano, Ana Miranda-Gonzalez performs a wide range of repertoire, including frequent collaborations on new works. She has worked with living composers on song and opera premieres, including her husband, composer Carlos Jaquez Gonzalez. In 2027, she will premiere the role of Tina in Daron Hagen’s HIDE OperaFilm, a horror opera. On the early music stage, Ana is equally at home with concert repertoire as she is with opera. She has trained with prestigious programs such as American Bach Soloists Academy and Haymarket Opera.
Ana has joined Bach in the City as their operations manager. An avid early music enthusiast and performer, she hopes to bring new audiences from around Chicagoland to experience the joy of Bach and his contemporaries.
James M. Brown, Social Media Manager & Assistant OM (They/them)
James M. Brown (they/them); a Mainer, administrator, and countertenor of “mellifluous tone”, has been seen performing diverse repertoire throughout North America. With a passion for the Early Music community, they have been seen workshopping projects with Tafelmusik, American Bach Soloists Academy, Queens College Baroque Opera, and Haymarket Opera. As a frequent collaborator of new music, they have helped premiere several new works through the help of Opera San Diego’s Opera Hack 3.0 initiative, the Institute of Contemporary Performance Practice, the Smithsonian Museum of Natural History, and this upcoming season they will be workshopping their next chamber project as the Recital Resident with City Lyric Opera, centering feminist Ideals and compositions.
